And you will agree with us when we say that there is no better time to put them in the spotlight than now. Contemporary India is more than ready for art that is new, fresh and different and these women are right there in the forefront. We couldn't stop admiring the fabulous, detailed and futuristic work that they are putting out and we can't wait tell you all about them. In this article we shift focus from other rigmaroles of the world, to Indian woman illustrators (not in any particular order) who are making a name for themselves in the national and international art circuit.

Chaplin Lines Exhibition @ Piramal Gallery, National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai
June 2015

 

The Caricature of Charlie Chaplin by Artist Leena Swamy is one of the 200 artworks that have been selected for the Chaplin Lines Exhibition to commemorate the legend of satire in filmdom on his 125th year of birth as well as the 100th year of his screen appearance.

 

This exhibition is going to remain open between 11 am and 8 pm from 25th June to 27th June at Piramal Gallery, National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Nariman Point, Mumbai
